Individual therapy at Blue Rock Psychology is a collaborative process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. In a safe, non-judgmental space, you’ll work with a therapist who listens deeply, helps you understand your patterns, and supports meaningful change.
What to Expect in Individual Therapy
- A respectful, collaborative relationship with your therapist
- Space to slow down and tune into what’s happening inside
- Exploration of thoughts, feelings, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck
- Practical strategies alongside deeper emotional work
- Support through difficult seasons of life
- A safe place to process grief, trauma, or past experiences
Our approach to individual counselling begins with understanding your history, challenges, goals, and values. From there, we create a customized path forward.
How We Work
Our therapists draw on several evidence-based approaches:
- Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) helps you process emotions, access what’s beneath the surface, and break cycles that keep you stuck.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand different “parts” of yourself and develop greater self-compassion.
- Attachment-based therapy explores how early relationships influence present patterns.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you accept difficult experiences while taking action aligned with your values.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) addresses unhelpful thinking patterns and builds practical coping skills.
